I found a great website called diy chicken coops and they have tons of info on chicken breeds plus many other topics. I was impressed by how thorough they are in their content offering. And, as you will be, I was impressed by the fact that they offer all of their content for free. In many cases they say that you get what you pay for, but in the case of diy chicken coops, I’d say that you get a lot more than you pay for – well, since it’s good and free that has to be the case!

For all of you chicken coop folks, you know that you need to get info on chicken breeds before you start your next flock, so I thought I would mention that this site has good info on the various breeds of live chickens. You will probably still want to talk with your local nursery, but at least with a little help you will be able to let them know what you are looking for in your chicks.

Start by figuring out if you are in it for the eggs or in it for the meat… that should start you off in the right direction!
